Originally from Austin, Texas now based in Chicago, Illinois, Ruby Bean has been creating art since childhood.

 

They hold a BFA in Illustration from Columbia College Chicago, where they served as the 2024 Creative Director of Manifest, worked as an Editorial Illustrator for The Chronicle, and contributed as a Maker in The Makerspace.

Ruby Bean’s work often explores family relationships and the natural world, using illustration to connect personal narratives with broader human experiences. They have recently begun teaching young artists, encouraging them to develop confidence in their own creative practices.​
